Award time!

It was ages I wasn't posting an award. I admit I got a bit lazy in the last few months and while I was of course pleased with the award I was receiving (my awesome cyber friends...I love you all!) I kind of never got around to pass them on.

Anyway, I decided enough of the nonsense and I'm back on the award game, watch out!

This one is "The Versatile Blogger" award and I got it from lostintranslation @ We say IVF they say FIV. I "found" her during this last ICLW week and I always feel so close to those who have moved Country, so go and see how she's doing in France! She had her first IVF baby in 2009 and is trying for #2.

1) My first boyfriend is now a priest...not much of a saint at that time, let me tell ya, but they say people change...I actually cannot think of him without a shiver...brrhhh...and thank God I've never seen him robed up since he vowed himself to celibacy or I would probably gag...

2) Within my family (old and new) we never call each other by proper name, in fact we have nicknames that change with time and it's great fun. Humans or animals your real name is soon forgotten!

3) My first pet was a dog. I was 16 and her name was Trudy.

4) One of the things that annoys me about IF is the number of years I worried about birth control and money spent on condoms! (a significant part of which with named ex-boyfriend at #1!)

5) I used to believe quite a bit in alternative therapies, now not so much.

6) I feel these blog awards are a little like those chain emails (thankfully without a threat at the end!)

7) I still follow and comment on the first blog I ever read

8) My past relationships seemed to get boring after around 3 years. This one is obviously of a different kind!

9) I got married the first time when I was 24. As per point above I turned that page at 27.

10) I'm a gadget addict though the iPad never really grabbed my attention.

Passing the time with an award!

Three dear blogger friends nominated me for the same award. While I sit on the edge of the chair, waiting for the phone to ring, I decided I better distract myself and properly blog about the award!

1) I love the smell of fog. It's such a familiar smell from home than when it is foggy in Dublin (very rarely) I immediately get that warm and nostalgic feeling in my stomach!

2) I have overcome my fear of flying. This was a big thing for me to happen, I am happy to report that lately I "nearly" enjoy flying! If you want to know how I manage drop me an email!

3) Mike and I have invented our own language. I suppose many couples do the same, but we have almost a coded language that often we realise people wouldn't have a clue about what we are saying!

4) I could live almost anywhere in the World. I am not particularly attached to a Country, I can see myself happy no matter where I am!

5) I hate someone touching my back. I can't have a massage, it's like torture for me!

6) I love cooking. Specially baking. I just don't do it often enough, coming back from work late is not really an incentive!

7) I have started wearing make-up. Just a little, I never wore it really, but I decided this year to make a bit of an effort!

I have never been into videogames until we bought the Wii

I'm a bit of cleaning-obsessed person, but I have improved a lot lately....ehmehm

The sheet that covers the materass must be perfectly straightened out or I cannot sleep!

I speak two languages only, Italian (mother-tongue) and English

My nephews are absolutely adorable, but I wish they stop asking when will we have children...

I kissed properly less than ten guys....I know I must have been too focussed on studying!

I tend to juggle too many things at a time and that's not good for my karma!

And now I've finished this post! Getting awards is really nice but this time it has taken me ages to finish this one! All the words I've used are meant so my friends, take your time and pass it along when you feel like it. I love you all.

Finally!

I didn't think this day would come and yet here I am with a HCG down to 3! Oh finally, finally finally I will not have to go back for another blood test next week! The midwives this morning came all to say hello (imagine! they know me by name now! ALL of them!) they all knew my values were low the last time so this woudl have been probably the last visit for a good while.

They all said next time I'll meet them it'll be for a good reason and they all can't wait to see me for a proper baby-scan! Weren't they nice? Lovely all of them. When the chief-midwife called me with the results (yes! it happened again! unbelievable) she said to make sure that the next time I'm pregnant I have to book a very early scan. I told her that I had phoned this time too but that they didn't seem to want to book me in before seven weeks. She was horrified and told me to ask for her directly and she'l sort things out. Nice.

I have a few bloggers to thank for awards (THANK YOU!) and I'll work on them in the next day or so.

Meanwhile the only other news I have is that I am now part of this newly born "Ectopic pregnancy Ireland" support group! It's such an early stage and there is a lot to do, but hopefully we'll have soon a website and a support-phoneline! The girls (only 6 of us in total so far!) have already applied for a Governament recognition of the charity organization, they have prepared leaflet already to be distributed to hospital and they have been already medically approved. I feel great about this, I cannot say how much. I haven't met them yet, it is all dealt with by emails and over the phone, but because we shared the same experience it's as if we know eachother already!

The dilemma

Thank you for all the suggestions on how to improve my sleep! It did go a bit better last night, I also went to bed much earlier, like...10 pm so I was more rested overall. The pee cannot be helped though, I put that down to the progesterone! The repetition of the word "Peace" was phenomenal, really soothing and relaxing and strongly recomment it. Thanks my friends.

I am waiting for the clinic to call back as I have this dilemma today. Official test day is sunday, I'll be testing on saturday so that we would have the weekend to recover no matter the news. But the clinic is closed during the weekend so if it's a BFP (please please please!) I will have no meds for monday....so I was considering the possibility to go in on friday and get my HCG blood test...it'll be already 15DPO, if it's positive they'll know by then. I know the clinic is never keen in doing things ahead of time, but I'm a special case here! Also, due to my history, the clinic will want me to do a blood test even if the HPT is positive and again I wouldn't have this results before sunday night (I know I know, jumping a bit ahead of me here). So we'll see what they say.

Now! They just called! No special case for me, they will fax the prescription for a couple of extra days on the meds I'm missing! Ah well, that's sorted then, testing day remains SATURDAY!
