ICLW June 2010

Welcome new and old friends. I had skipped the last ICLW round as I was on holidays so I'm very happy to be back on the radar!

So you can read my short step-by-step story on the left bar. We have been through a lot like many of you, if there is anything you think I can help you with fell free to email me, I'll only be delighted to give back some of the support I have received since I started blogging a year ago.

After 3 fresh ICSI, 6 total ETs, 2 ectopic pregnancies, surgeries to remove the tubes, endless tests and even more tears we are currently pregnant and dare I say in the right spot! For me this is close to a miracle. We named the little penguin (our single left over frozen blast, in case you wonder if we do have a real penguin as a pet) Elvis. We had our viability scan at 7w4d and it all looked good. Then at 8w1d I started spotting and totally panicked, but a trip to the ER showed our Elvis still doing well. I find it next to impossible not to worry about this pregnancy, what if I lose it? What if at the next scan there is no heartbeat? And then I kick myself for not enjoying to the fullest this blessing we have have been given, this real possibility to have a family. So here I am, waiting for Thursday and my next and probably final scan at the fertility clinic before moving on to the OB and the real pregnancy World.

Today I'm 9w1d. It just seems impossible that it's actually me saying this.

I'd love for you to stick around and I can't wait to get to know you too.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope you have a wonderful scan on thursday! It can be quite frightening to have spotting during your pregnancy, so I hope it's all stopped and that you will have an uneventful pregnancy further and a healthy baby in 31 weeks time!

Gosh is it that time again? I havent registered for a while as things have just been too hectic. If I remember correctly we actually "met" during an ICLW week!

Hi Fran, I'm not officially taking part in ICLW this month but have been secrely lurking and following you for a while so thought this was an apt time to out myself.

You've been through so much and I can only imagine how strange it must be for you to almost be at the point of graduating from your RE, what a milestone.

I don't think you should feel guilty for not enjoying the pregnancy so far... there will come a point where you'll relax and its different for everyone. Given all you've been through to get here its only natural that a little self protection kicks in. You're baby will be loved beyond belief, I am hoping for the best for you. xxx

9w1d! I know it's hard not to be gun-shy but little Elvis shows every inclination that he is going to stick around for the duration (and I am so very, very glad). Not an easy road you have had, and you DESERVE this. I am waiting with you for your Thursday scan - with the hope that Elvis is growing beautifully and that getting just that further along puts some of that worry (inevitable, I know) to rest.

9 amazing weeks! Oh, Fran. I'm just so excited for you. The Mr. has given me a joke for you here:

"An ion walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Hey we can't serve atoms in here." The ion says, "I'm no atom." The bartender says, "are you sure?" The ion says, "yeah, I'm positive."

I can't tell you not to worry, because that wouldn't stop the worrying anyway, but it certainly sounds like things are looking good, and you're about to graduate to the "normal" pregnancy world. Congrats - it was a long journey.
