30 weeks down, 10 to go!

And 30! Not much to report since last week, my contractions have eased a good bit and now I get them more occasionally (still every day though). I did call the OB to ask just in case, but he confirmed it's nothing to worry about.

I've put on a bit of weight since last week, maybe not a full kg but almost. I think it's pretty normal and I'm just happy I'm not constantly gaining weight! So I'm at +14kg now.
I have noticed I'm getting more tired in the evenings and I do get up a bit more at night to pee, but other than that all is well. Movements are good, as always some days Elvis is more active than others but I have relaxed a bit about it too which is great.

Comments I've been getting from IRL people have started worrying me a bit (as if I needed to worry about something else!!). They keep telling me how small my belly is...and while I know the appearance means very little, I can't help thinking what if Elvis is not growing enough? My OB never takes measurements so I don't know how bit he is, but tomorrow I'll ask just in case.
Thankfully I met a very good friend of mine on Thursday for lunch. She's also pregnant and a couple of weeks behind me. This is her second baby and with her first pregnancy she was really small but had a perfectly healthy baby. She is very fit and even with this second pregnancy she is barely showing. Anyway, I shared my concerns and she was brilliant, she said people were telling her the same thing all along and eventually she also got a bit paranoid that something was wrong. Her OB totally reassured her as it has to do with the strength of your abdominal muscles which may hold the uterus more upright instead than projecting forward. Once the baby moves well and there is plenty of fluid around him all is just as it should be.

Our attic is progressing well! Now the house looks like it's been bombed to be honest, there was no way we could have lived there when the works were ongoing. I think this week they should be able to finish reinforcing the roof and floor (steel beams are in) and then they can start building again. Stairs and windows have been ordered so things are on schedule!

I love your updates! 30 weeks - just doesnt feel real hey?

Dont get me started on this freaking "you are so small" story. I get it ALL the time and I too was starting to get paranoid. How big do people want us to get? If I was the size of a house then I would be "too big". Its bad enough that I feel as big as a house and then I get told how small I am. I want to slap those people. Just ignore them all and let their comments just slide.

Urggg makes me so mad why people need to have an opinion anyway... People forget weeks 4 - 38 and want you to look 38-40 weeks at all times. See I can rant about this for a LONG time.

30 weeks! WOOHOO!
I think the weight gain is as telling as a visual of you and baby growing at the right pace, I'm sure you're both doing just great! I guess I'm the opposite, people tell me I look HUGE, and I've just gained 7 pounds (3kg).

The idea of our babies playing together puts a big smile on my face :D

I'm glad your friend was able to ease your worries a little. She's right, everyone is different. I'm sure Elvis is perfectly the right size!

Can't wait to see the completed attic! Have a great Monday!

30 weeks is awesome... wait until you're in single digits. It's surreal.

I think it's time for another belly post - if you're going to talk about it you should show us;)!

Hope the attic project continues to move along on schedule! Can't wait to see some pics!

I can't believe you are 30 weeks! Time has flown! Don't listen to what other people say. Just hang in there and enjoy this time. Glad to hear the attic is coming along. Take care and get as much rest as you can. Let me tell you once them come home there is not much rest!

So glad things are continuing to go well! I had the same problem with people commenting that I looked small while pregnant. You just have to ignore them. Everybody seems to have an opinion when you're pregnant!

Up until about 29 weeks I had a ton of people saying I was really small. I would get freaked out, but I know I'm measuring ok and I get ultrasounds pretty regularly, so that always eases my mind. Now at 32 weeks I have people telling me how big I am! I think people are crazy, honestly! I agree about ignoring them!

I'm sure you look great! And congrats on 30 weeks....

Some people just carry small and I think if your Dr. was really concerned he would do an US to check size but since you are gaining weight it is probably all baby:) Which is good you will take it off faster:))) Also my Friend Jenny who has really strong Abs didnt really start showing until around 33ish weeks so I wouldnt worry to much and just double check with your DR:) Take Care Girlie!!!!

The entire time I was pregnant people told me that I was small. It bothered me and made me worry too, but everything was fine. I decided that the only good thing to say to a pregnant woman is that she looks great, whether she is big or small. I will never ever comment on someone's size ever again.
