Upgraded to a Squash! 29 weeks

We have no broadband in the temporary accommodation, so I could not update yesterday as usual!

Anyway, 29 weeks along and doing well, no weight gain which means I'm steady at +13Kg (now I'm worrying I should actually put up a bit of weight given that I'm the last trimester!!! Same old me...). Sleeping ok, getting up at least a couple of times to pee but I don't feel too tired in the morning. Turning around in the bed is becoming a bit more uncomfortable, I can feel the weight of Elvis, specially if I'm on my right side. Whichever position he is in, I have like a hard "dome" on my upper right side of the belly. I think it's his bum! It doesn't move much and I feel kicks mostly on the left hand side as if there's where the room is but Elvis is all on the right.

I do kick counting even though my OB (and many others) are not really in favour of it as I mentioned before, still, it makes me feel more relaxed as Elvis moves certainly much more than 10 times in 2 hours (when he's awake!) and one main difference I've noticed is that now the movements are more like rolls and shifts and pressure than hard kicks (though I get them as well). And I think I felt hiccups too! Lately I have quite a few Braxton-Hicks and the belly is really hard...I know it's normal but I thought those contractions would come and go while I seem to have a contracted uterus for a long time specially if I'm walking. I'll ask next week just to be sure.

The temporary accommodation is perfect, we've all settled in very nicely (both Patches and the Dude absolutely love it!) and it's so so convenient to our place it's almost a dream. On saturday we picked up the tiles for the bathroom and I think we now have everything. The works are progressing right on schedule, after only one week so much had been done already! This week the windows and stairs will be ordered and the steel beams positioned. We are taking pics every week so I will post a progress update in a couple of weeks to let you see how it goes!

Only four more weeks of term. I can't wait! I have my teaching almost done and it's a great milestone to look forward too.

Yowzer - 29 weeks! Everytime I turn around another day, week or month passes by- it's truly insane!!! How cute about you suspecting his bum is the "dome" you are feeling- I bet you are right!

Can't wait to see the remodel pics....smart move to get out while its being done...our house is a mess just from the bathroom remodel! It's driving me insane....but I know it will be worth it!

Wow... 1 week short of 30s?! I can't wait to see Elvis... though 10 more weeks of wait would be perfect!

Have you thought of names?

Ahhh, yes, I remember having a hard time turning over in bed at night. It's such a wonderful time of pregnancy, isn't it? You can feel the baby move and hiccup and you LOOK so pregnant, but don't feel too uncomfortable (yet!).

I can't remember - did your most recent ultrasound show that Elvis is head down? I ask only because my baby was breech and I had a huge dome under my left rib - which turned out to be his head. Also, I never felt the kicks in the ribs that other pregnant women reported feeling, which I realized later was because my baby's feet were way down in my pelvis. I was like you: I wanted to know every detail and wasn't afraid to ask!

Enjoy the luxury apartment! It will take you right up until the month before you're due! Then you'll waddle home and see your new attic!

I nearly did a double take when I saw "29". Excellent news, Fran. And thank goodness for smooth sailing. Enjoy that apartment and good luck with the remodel. Can't wait until it's done and Elvis moves into his new digs:)

Hard to believe so much time has already gone by! One day you'll have to tell Elvis his/her metamorphosis through the fruit/vegetable family. :-)

Congrats on your upgrade! And thanks for the advice, I think we will be better off if we stay somewhere in Kilkenny. I didn't realize our B&B was so far away! It didn't look that way on the map.

Yay for 29 weeks!

My whole pregnancy with the twins, I only felt movement on the left...it's such a strange feeling! Good to hear that Elvis is giving lots of kicks, too!

Elvis is running out of room. It is weird when they go from flipping to rolling. Just wait until when he moves, it makes you belly all skiwampus. lol

Definitely ask about the braxton hicks while walking. I would get them really bad when I would go walking too. I'm glad I followed my instinct and quit walking because of it. In my situation, a previous uterine surgery was creating complications, but we didn't know about it until my daughter was born.

I can't wait to see the remodel pics! I was thinking about that tonight and wondering how things were coming along.
