15 weeks and new addiction

Today I'm 15 weeks. I feel very well, much more energy (although after the two days conference I needed a lot of rest!!) and no headaches for a good 10 days now. I still feel I'm putting on too much weight, from the beginning of the pregnancy I think I'm up 6.5 kg (like I'm putting on something every week without exception). I really look forward to seeing the OB and see what he thinks.

In this last week I definitely didn't eat a lot, but didn't seem to have made a difference. I wonder if I'm retaining fluids (my hands feel a bit swollen but my feet and ankles are not).

Having heard the heartbeat has calmed me down a lot. Really. I'm still concerned about the cervix of course but reading a bit more about it, it seems to be a quite rare condition (between 0.14 to 0.44% depending on age with 0.44% based on 50 years old women) so I want to try and relax a bit about it until I speak to the OB in any case. I've started my meditations again in which I visualise my cervix very strong and tight!

So little Elvis, as you can see from the ticker (which is still acting strangely, it said I was 15 weeks yesterday! I wonder which time-zone it's set on!) is the size of an orange!
Grow Elvis grow!

And my new addiction is "Private Practice"...not as good as Grey's in my opinion but still a great distraction from the irrational fears!

Yay for 15 weeks! I'm glad the doppler is giving you some peace of mind. I like Private Practice a lot, but you're right it's not as good as Grey's.

yaay for being 15 weeks and Elvis being the size of an Orange!! soon enough you will be able to feel the movements.. those are so reassuring and so so amazing to feel!!! I wouldn't worry too much about the weight, some women gain more some less. I started off gaining lots then it slowed down to start again around 20 weeks, now it's slow. Check with your doctor but try not to worry to much over a number on a scale!

Hi Fran - I think you'll find the weight gain levels off in the 2nd trimester; in the 3rd you might completely lose your appetite, too. In any case.. way to go, Elvis - keep doing what you're doing!

You're doing great!!!! And watch out for private practice - it has it's fair share of baby drama which you might not like so much! I put on a bit of weight early on and then have leveled off a bit now! I'm so excited about your little Elvis!

My ticker always seemed to be a little off too, but YOU will always know precisely how pregnant you are! Wow- 15 weeks! I think there is a lot of fluid retention in the beginning, and - ahem - some extra gas that attributes to that bloated feeling. But in the next month or so you will definitely feel more baby and less gas/water. In fact, it won't be too much longer and you should feel Elvis wiggling around in there!

You should be able to start feeling movement soon. :) Try laying on your back at night and see if you can feel the little fella.
