ICLW

I am a bit behind with my posting on the ICLW week but I'll start working on it today.
You may have read already how unlucky we have been this time around. Two pregancies after ICSI and two ectopics. I have to say I needed to find out I wasn't the only one who had gone through this and indeed there are a few that shared my experience. At least I'm not an alien.
I need to know if we do have hope of a normal pregnancy, can't wait to talk to the clinic next week. This doesn't mean we'll go again tomorrow of course, I want to give myself time to recover and to be in the best shape possible for future treatments.
I'd love to hear from you, if you know of people who had successful pregnancy after two ectopics and loss of both tubes, please share it with me.

Overall today I feel better. It's only two days since surgery and I'm not that sore or swallen anymore, my recovery seems to be quick and I'm grateful for that. There's nothing worse than feeling ill when your emotions aren't great, at least I can look ahead with a bit more positive attitude.

I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better (physically and mentally) soon, and are able to fulfill your dreams of children, by whatever means necessary.

I'm glad you're feeling physically a little better. And, you definitely are not an alien. Long distance hugs being sent to you!

Good that you have an appointment with the clinic next week to discuss things. I hope they will have a plan. And I'm glad you're feeling better, but don't try to do too much too fast...be sure you are getting enough rest (do I sound like a mother hen?). Tend to your broken heart and pamper yourself for a while. If it is too difficult right now to keep up with all the blogging, you just take whatever time you need - everyone will understand completely. You're in my thoughts and prayers every day.

Fran, I'm so sorry to hear about this second etopic. I hope you are recovering comfortably, and hanging in there.

Take care of yourself.

Hi Fran,

Glad to hear you're feeling better, i've been so worried about you. What you've been through totally sucks. I have a very good friend in Australia who had both her tubes removed and got pregnant with IVF. It was by no means a smooth ride and she did IVF a few times - she now has 3 girls, one girl born 5 years ago and twins born last year. It will happen for you too! Hugs.

Hi Fran,
I hope that your physical healing continues quickly, and that your heart soon follows.

In response to your question, off the top of my head I know two bloggers who have successfully gotten pregnant from IVF after losing both tubes.

Carrie from Tubeless in Seattle had her tubes removed surgically due to damage (she experienced recurrent miscarriage, but no ectopics that I know of). She has a 3-year-old daughter conceived naturally before the losses and infertility, and is now pregnant with triplet boys from a two-embryo transfer.

Jamie from Sticky Feet lost her tubes after an ectopic. She has a toddler son and twin girls on the way. The twins were FET -- frozen embryos from the same IVF that produced her son.

I'm sure there are more that I don't know of in the blogosphere. It does happen; there is hope!

Take care.

Hey Fran,

A close friend of mine did not have eptopic pregnancies but did have both her tubes removed due to infection as a child and she now has twin daughters from her 2nd IVF.

So it is completely possible to have a good healthy pregnancy without your tubes! I'm praying that yours comes soon.

I'm stopping by via the ICLW links...

I have to say that 1: it sounds like you have an AWESOME DR and that is rare and major in finding the right combination you need to have a baby. 2: Your husband is AWESOME to have posted updates on you to keep all your loyal blogger friends updated. 3: I am so sorry for your loss.

I haven't had any eptopic, but I have had 13 miscarriages, so I know the saddness that comes when your body can't seem to work with you.

I hope you continue to heal well.

Fran dear... you are right the combination of sadness and your body not being great is very potent, for one can make the other worse. So hang in there. Try to take care of yourself, being gentle with your emotions too, so your body can recover. After you start feeling really better, your emotions can start to heal as well.

I've been thinking of you a lot this week and wishing you healing in your heart and body. Our bodies tend to heal so much faster than our hearts, so please do be gentle with yourself. I'm so glad you are hearing stories here about success without tubes - I hope that is giving you hope for your twins! I'm here if you need me - you have my e-mail, so if you want to talk, let me know and we can set up a phone call. XOXO
